Jon
developer
Jon had already spent a year as a freelance designer before graduating from high school in Gibsons, BC. At his graduation ceremony, he announced to the auditorium his dream of a career in web design. With an A+ in Entrepreneurship, he set out to create websites for his friends, their families, and personal interests using whatever tools possible, but finding steady clients was a tall order and Jon was forced to make ends meet through other means.
Years of retail experience, convenience store management, and construction work added to Jon’s varied skill-set while he continued to spend evenings and weekends building and managing websites. His first real programming project was the development of a full-featured content management system for his brother’s video gaming website. Since then, his thirst for programming knowledge has continued to grow and spread to other languages, frameworks, and custom programming projects.
Before taking any formal training, Jon had already designed and developed dozens of projects. When the time came to go back to school, Jon studied a diverse selection of courses from CDI College and Kwantlen Polytechnic University covering programming, marketing, business, art and technical support.
Jon’s dream of working as a full-time web developer came to fruition when he was hired by WebsiteCM to develop and support modules for the X-Cart e-commerce system. Jon also saw great opportunity with the rapid growth of WordPress and quickly became an expert at using it as a framework for website development. When Jon noticed the job opening at 612 Creative he was overjoyed and knew he would be a perfect fit as a 612 Creative developer.
Jon spends his free time growing his tiny Internet celebrity status, playing the non-boring sports, supporting his church and spending time with his wife.
